Oh what a journey I am on where things move and then seem to relate to each other! Let me put it this way, yesterday on the FB Bible Journaling Community we were fortunate to receive a digital freeby from the very talented Jamie Doherty. I decided to download it and use part of it as the very first element I'd add to the columns of my Bible. The part that was shouting at me was the quote from John 13:34 "Love one another as I have loved you". I did have to color in some of the elements and I chose to ink around the love and add the heart.
TIP: To get the result I wanted, I washi taped a piece of transfer paper to a piece of thin cardstock (just in two spots at the top) so that it would make it through the printer. I did have to trim the transfer paper with scissors as it was slightly bigger than the letter size cardstock. I loaded it into the printer tray with the transfer paper facing down and the washi tape on the inside of the tray so that it would feed in that way. I then just printed the pdf I'd downloaded. All that remained to do was to cut and paste. I used multi-medium matte from Ranger. Initially it looked very wrinkly, but it did flatten out as it dried.
Here is what my bible entry looks like. What really spoke out to me was the need to give up on beating up on myself if something is not perfect! For someone who worried terribly about not being loved because I'm not perfect, seems that pretty much everything I've added in my so far ended up crooked, bled or wrinkled! It is a process!
As I read the 13-14 I found a couple of other quotes that spoke to me. They led me to question something that I shared with you in my first post on this blog. But that is something for my next post!
Have a wonderful, spiritual day!
